Infinity Center Channel Speaker (PRIMUS C25) (PRIMUSC25BK)
From Infinity
The Primus C25 center channel speaker is the perfect center channel to complement any Primus speaker when expanding to multichannel audio. This magnetically shielded speaker utilizes Infinity's proprietary Metal Matrix Diaphragm (MMD) technology to deliver accurate dialog and sound effects with dramatically reduced distortion for incredibly lifelike sound.
A LUCKY CHOICE
There were several center speakers to choose from, and within my price range, they all looked good. The one I first chose was undeliverable, so I chose this slightly more expensive INFINITY model. It turned out to be a case of Fortuna, goddess of chance, giving me a break, for a change. Fast delivery. Perfect condition on arrival. Easy hook-up, and flashy first demonstration. But, what showed up through many playings of many kinds of music and Vids, is the remarkable clarity and presence of the speaker. No distortion at all, at even high volume. The sound for both voice and insrumental music is remarkable. Although all the components in my system are of good quality and have outstanding sound, this component stands out as the star of the ensemble. Am I pleased with the purchase? Are you kidding?
One of the Best
I have been looking at buying a center channel speaker for my set up and I have found it. It is very clear but not to bright. It reproduces voices really good. I compaired it to the Kilipse that are also in this range and polk cs 2. Thi sone sounded the best to me. I was able to get mine for $120 so shop around. But do go to a store and bring a cd that you like and listen to it with your other speaks if they have them and you will see what i mean.
PRIMUS C25
I bought the c25 to be the center between two infinity Primus 360s. Based on the product reviews already out there, I felt comfortable buying this product, and my experience certainly matches the general consensus that, for the money, this is an excellent speaker. The dB rating is lower than some of the other speakers in my setup, it seems very crisp clear and pleasantly loud for the movies I watch. Given its frequency response range, I wouldn't recommend it outside of its intended use as the center in a 5.1 setup because it lacks the very lower and very high frequencies, but in conjunction with a solid subwoofer and towers, you will not be disappointed. Those looking for a sleek speaker should look elsewhere, as it is rather large and heavy, but this speaks only to the quality of construction, and the warranty also reinforces that. In any event, the c25 fleshes out very well a surround setup and provides clarity and directness for music and voice. If you already have a receiver and some good fronts, and a sub, this should be your next purchase. Mine was had for ~100 shipped and it was well worth it. Do not deceive yourself into thinking a cheaper speaker will be a less expensive solution. Cheaper equipment sounds less good and neither lasts as long or is backed by a multi year warranty. If you are looking at a surround setup, or really another home electronics, given the ridiculous cost of repairing electronics, it is well worth it to get the better equipment in the first place, and this speaker is an excellent example. If sound matters to you consider it an investment; it is much better to buy something a little more expensive once then buy cheap tings over and again to replace broken or unsatisfactory equipment.
